Google Analytics

Send your projects' traffic and conversions to your own Google Analytics 4 property.

Connect Google Analytics and the builder adds GA4 tracking to every page of your project, then reports the moments that matter — sign-ups, leads, bookings, purchases — as events. Your data lands in your own Google Analytics property, next to your other marketing data.

wish4's built-in project analytics keep working. Google Analytics is an extra, in your own Google account — useful for Google Ads conversions, funnels and audiences.

Find your measurement ID

1
Open your data streams

In Google Analytics, go to Admin → Data collection and modification → Data streams. No property yet? Create one under Admin → Create → Property first.

2
Pick a web stream

Open the Web stream for your site, or add one with your project's address (your wish4 subdomain or custom domain).

3
Copy the ID

The Measurement ID is at the top right of the stream and starts with G-.

4
Connect in wish4

Open Connectors → Google Analytics → Connect, name the connection and paste the ID.

The measurement ID is public — it goes into your pages' code, as it does on every site that uses Google Analytics. It's not a password, so it isn't hidden like your other keys.

What you can build

Site-wide tracking“Add Google Analytics to every page.”Visitors, sources and devices. The builder puts the tag on every page, and on new pages it adds later.
Sign-up conversions“Send a sign_up event to Google Analytics when someone joins the waitlist.”Count what matters. Mark it as a key event in GA and import it into Google Ads.
Purchase tracking“Track purchases in Google Analytics with the order value.”Revenue in GA. Uses GA4's purchase event, so the ecommerce reports fill in.
Button clicks“Track clicks on the Book a call and WhatsApp buttons.”See which calls to action work. Each button reports its own event.
Cookie consent“Add a cookie banner — only turn on Google Analytics after visitors accept.”Consent mode for EU and UK visitors. Analytics stays off until they agree.

Check it's working

  • Publish the project, open it in a new tab, then look at Reports → Realtime in Google Analytics — your visit shows within seconds.
  • To see events as they fire, use Admin → DebugView with Google's Tag Assistant.
  • The standard reports can take 24–48 hours to fill in.

Troubleshooting

  • No data in Realtime — check that you republished after the builder added the tag, and that an ad blocker isn't blocking Google Analytics in your browser.
  • Wrong property — the ID must be the one from the web stream you're looking at. Paste the new one with Replace key in the Google Analytics panel, then ask the builder to update your pages.
  • ID starts with UA- — that's Universal Analytics, which Google retired. Create a GA4 property and use its G- ID.
  • Don't send personal details — names, emails or phone numbers aren't allowed in Google Analytics events. The builder leaves them out.
