ShipDuo
Live shipping quotes, label booking and tracking in the sites and apps you build.
ShipDuo compares shipping rates across carriers — UPS and USPS (plus FedEx and DHL where available) for parcels, SAIA, ABF, XPO, Estes and more for LTL freight — books the shipment and tracks it. Connect it and the builder can put all of that into your projects.
What you can build
Connect ShipDuo
Sign in to your ShipDuo dashboard and copy your API key from its API settings. New to ShipDuo? Create an account and connect your carriers first.
Open Connectors → ShipDuo → Connect, give the connection a name, paste the key and save.
When you ask for a shipping feature, the builder asks once for your pickup address, contact and pickup hours — carriers need them for every quote.
How a quote and booking work
- 1Carriers — ShipDuo first lists which carriers cover the route and parcel.
- 2Rates — each carrier is priced at once and the results are merged, cheapest first, with delivery estimates.
- 3Booking — the rate you pick is booked; you get a tracking number and a label PDF (a bill of lading for freight).
- 4Tracking — look a shipment up any time by tracking number or order number.
Booking a label spends money on your ShipDuo account, so the builder keeps booking behind your login (or your site's member login). Visitors can get quotes and track parcels, but never buy labels.
Good to know
- Parcels under about 150 lb ship as small parcel; heavier shipments go as LTL freight with a freight class.
- Quotes need a real pickup date and pickup hours, and complete addresses — a missing field comes back as a validation error.
- Only shipments booked with your ShipDuo account can be tracked through it.
Troubleshooting
- 401 — the API key is wrong or was replaced. Copy it again from the ShipDuo dashboard and use Edit connection.
- 422 — a required field is missing or in the wrong format (dates are YYYY-MM-DD, times HH:MM:SS). The message says which field.
- No rates — no connected carrier covers that route or parcel size. Check the carriers in your ShipDuo account.
- "switched off for this workspace" — turn the connection on in the ShipDuo panel.
