Discord
Post to your Discord channels from your projects, publish announcements and show recent messages.
Connect your own Discord bot and your projects can post to your server's channels — new orders, sign-ups and form replies as they happen — publish announcements from an admin page, and show recent messages from a channel on your site.
Create a bot and connect it
Open the Discord Developer Portal, click New Application and name it — the name is what your server sees.
Go to Bot → Reset Token and copy the token. Discord shows it only once; if you lose it, reset it again and replace it in wish4.
Go to OAuth2 → URL Generator, tick the bot scope and the permissions View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links and Read Message History, then open the generated link and pick your server. You need the Manage Server permission there.
Open Connectors → Discord → Connect, give the connection a name and paste the bot token.
To read what people write in a channel, also switch on Message Content Intent under Bot → Privileged Gateway Intents. Without it, Discord gives bots messages with empty text.
What you can build
The builder will ask which channel to use. To copy a channel ID, turn on User Settings → Advanced → Developer Mode in Discord, then right-click the channel → Copy Channel ID.
How your token is handled
- The token is encrypted on wish4's servers and only sent to Discord's API — never to a page, a visitor or the AI.
- Free-text posting and reading your channels are kept behind your login. Public pages can only send the fixed alerts the builder sets up, and they can't ping @everyone or roles.
- The bot only reaches the servers you invited it to, with the permissions you gave it.
Your app can post and read messages, but can't reply to new messages the instant they arrive — that needs a bot that's online all the time. Feeds refresh when the page loads or on a timer.
Troubleshooting
- 401 Unauthorized — the token is wrong or was reset. Reset it in the Developer Portal and use Replace key in the Discord panel.
- Missing Access (50001) — the bot isn't in that server or can't see the channel. Invite it, or give its role access to the channel.
- Missing Permissions (50013) — the bot's role can't send messages or embeds in that channel. Check the channel's permissions.
- Messages show no text — switch on the Message Content intent (see the tip above).
- "switched off for this workspace" — turn the connection on in the Discord panel.
